Our horse rides around Windsor Great Park offer a wonderful experience for riders of all ages and abilities, and we make this work by grouping riders of similar experience levels.
Sometimes it's nice for inexperienced and expert riders to mix together, though we often find the best way to keep our rides at a pace everyone is comfortable with is to split riding groups by expertise.
We have horses to suit all abilities and make sure that the ride progresses at the pace of the least experienced rider ensuring everyone is comfortable. Of course, riders of mixed experience are welcome to ride together if they want to though, getting their own guide from our team rather than joining a larger group.
We welcome enquiries on any aspect of the riding school, our friendly team are always available to answer questions or take bookings.
Contact us or call 01784 479159 at any time to learn more.
We don't carry out rider assessments prior to hacks, but we will ask you to fill out a form detailing your experience so that we can group similar abilities together easily.
If we find at the meeting point that a rider isn't as experienced as they've said on the form then we would need to bring out another horse and staff member to escort them separately from the experienced riders. This will unfortunately eat into riding time so please be as honest as possible with information when booking so we can find you just the right horse and riding group, we'll ask for information on allergies, medical conditions and recent operations as well as basic riding experience.
We don't have any ponies so we usually say our rides are unsuitable for riders under the age of 11, however we have horses suitable for even beginner riders with no experience at all. Unfortunately we don't currently offer horse riding lessons, but we can recommend local teachers and our hacks will include plenty of advice and encouragement on the basics of riding, style and technique.
Our rides are ideal for anyone from the local area which includes Windsor, Slough, Maidenhead, Bracknell, Weybridge, Hayes, Woking, Wokingham, the wider Surrey and Berkshire region or even further afield like London and Buckinghamshire; it's a wonderful day out however far you've travelled, with beautiful scenery and the horse rides very social and everyone chatting!
