About Tally Ho Stables

Based in Windsor just outside the Great Park we offer horse rides through stunning scenery to riders of every experience level.

Over 20 years ago our founder Andrew Gilbert (known locally as Gilly), started taking his friends for horse rides through Windsor Great Park.

Seeing how much they enjoyed the experience he started offering the rides to the public and Tally Ho School was born. Since then we’ve given thousands of people their first taste of horse riding in one of England’s most beautiful places to ride; a favoured spot of royalty for centuries today anyone can take in the striking views, ancient forests and beautiful deer herds.

We also welcome enquiries on any aspect of the riding school, our friendly team are always available to answer questions or take bookings.

We focus on the very rewarding experience of leading rides and hacks through the park, taking a variety of different routes through the landscape and giving people an experience few of them will ever forget.

From groups of absolute beginners that need help even getting into the saddle through to seasoned riders who want to see the park at its best we welcome anyone to come and enjoy a day here fully supervised by experienced and certified Ride Leaders.

In addition to the rides we run a fully functional stables with over 30 resident horses kept in the best possible conditions. A well stocked riding shop is on site selling equestrian essentials and more experienced riders can also study for and take their British Equestrian Tourism exams here, qualifying to become Ride Leaders themselves.

Fully licenced by the local authority we are also approved by the British Horse Society, who make regular unannounced visits to check on the welfare of our horses and quality of our safety procedures and general services. Further certified by the BET as a training centre we are also fully insured and guarantee all our customers of an absolutely professional riding school service with expert staff.
